APPLICATIONS & CONSTRUCTION

Chenille patches for varsity letters and bold apparel designs

Varsity & letterman jackets

Use large letters and bold emblems where raised yarn texture is part of the design. Specify the letter height, base colour and border contrast.

Sweatshirts & fashion collections

Show the placement and garment fabric with your artwork. Review patch weight, attachment and the intended look together on the approval sample.

Team & club emblems

Separate broad yarn-filled areas from smaller names or fine details. A mixed construction may need embroidered elements rather than chenille throughout.

For smaller logos or designs dominated by fine stitched detail, review embroidery as an alternative to raised chenille yarn.

Specifications to include in your quotation

Yarn areas & fine detail
Mark which areas should have raised chenille texture. Small letters, narrow gaps and fine outlines need review or a different construction.
Base & visible border
Provide yarn and base colour references separately. Show whether the base extends beyond the yarn and how the outer border should follow the design.
Combined embroidery
Identify details that should be stitched rather than yarn-filled. Confirm the construction and placement of each area before approving the sample.
Attachment & garment care
Share the garment, placement and expected cleaning method. Confirm a compatible backing and care approach rather than applying a generic heat setting.

What to check on your approval sample

Review yarn texture and coverage, felt or base visibility, border shape and embroidered details. Check the finished patch on the intended garment and agree attachment and care requirements.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

Questions buyers ask.

Prepare a clearer brief before sampling and production.
Can chenille and embroidery be combined in one design?

Share the artwork and indicate which areas should have raised yarn and which need finer stitched detail. Feasibility, minimum detail size and the sample plan must be confirmed before a production commitment.

What should I send for a quotation?

Send your artwork or reference, quantity, finished width and height, intended application and required delivery date. If you are unsure about the backing, include a photo or description of the garment or surface.

Can I start with a sketch or reference image?

Yes. A sketch or reference is a useful starting point. The artwork and construction details need to be reviewed before a production quotation and sample plan are confirmed.

How are minimum quantity and lead times confirmed?

MOQ, sample timing and bulk timing depend on the design, construction, size and quantity. Confirm these in the quotation and agree the production schedule after sample approval.

Which backing should I choose?

Share how the patch will be attached and used. Heat application, sewing, removable attachment and adhesive placement have different requirements. Garment compatibility and attachment details should be confirmed before production.

What needs approval before bulk production?

Confirm the artwork, dimensions, colours, material, edge finish, backing and sample requirements. Record the approved details together with quantity, packing requirements and the agreed delivery schedule.
